This weekend I had the pleasure of exhibiting at the I Do! Wedding Expo in Monroeville, PA. I wanted to share my list of the best selling items from this event & how I displayed those on my Jewelry Bar table. A lot of times I find that I sell what I display or highlight on my table. It’s easy to throw some displays together & most of the time anything you put together looks amazing, but I think it’s important to think about the combinations you are showing, the pieces you are highlighting due to the time of year, and ways to upsell using your display. Here’s some of the displays I used this weekend:
TOGGLE CHAINS & ROSE GOLD WITH BLACK
Showing the versatility of our jewelry by mixing metals is always a great way to attract customers to your table & let them know that it’s ok to “mix & match” their pieces. This really helps me upsell my chains because many customers will choose multiple chains in different metal colors so they can change up their look. The black and rose gold combination is one of my favorite (and my best selling color combo). I’m going to start highlighting the gold and black also as it’s heavily featured in our Holiday Collection. The Toggle chain is also one of my best selling chains, so I always try to display it in all colors available!
THE CORE COLLECTION
I have started separating my CORE collection items from the rest of my jewelry — I feel this collection targets a different demographic than the rest of our jewelry and I think by separating it, I have many more customers approach the table specifically for these items. A simple bangle holder and the mementos in a tray or on a plate allow them to pick them up and read their meaning on their card. I think the easy access to them has also increased the number that customers choose per bangle.
I have started displaying my Twist Locket bases and faces on a plate so customers can easily pick up and try different combinations. I have seen a huge increase in my Twist lockets since I have started keeping them all on one plate and allowing customers to pick them up and try them.
DREAMCATCHER CHAIN & MULTIPLE LOCKETS/CHAINS
The Dreamcatcher chain has been very popular at my Jewelry Bars and events. It has such a unique look – many guests have purchased it to wear without dangles! I’m always sure to display it and add a longer chain and locket combination to show that our jewelry is compatible and wearing more than one locket or chain looks amazing!
Some key things to remember when choosing your display pieces:
- Display what is in stock
- Keep the displays relative to the show, area, or season
- Utilize plates, dangles, chain extenders, locket extenders and other accessories to increase the amount of the sale
- Don’t be afraid to try new combinations
- Change it up – if it’s selling then keep that display, if it’s not selling then make a change
- Less is more – don’t display too many items, try to utilize your space proportionately
I’d love to hear about your favorite display combos or what your best sellers are at the moment! Leave me a comment below!
